Granny Smith’s Nursery has been established in Troon town centre since 1989.
about the nursery
We care for children between 6 weeks to 8 years old, in 3 separate areas within the nursery (baby room, toddler room and play room). The nursery also provides funded hours in partnership with South Ayrshire Council, for pre and ante-preschool children, as well as wrap-around care for schoolchildren with our provision of breakfast clubs and after-school care.
The nursery opening hours are between 07.30 and 18.00 and we provide a wonderful variety of fresh, home made nutritional meals throughout the day. All of the meals are prepared by our own highly motivated, fully qualified head chef.
Over the years we have acquired various different pieces of ground bordering the nursery which have allowed for the extension of the garden area we now have.
Our original building was entirely a ground floor property, before we further expanded in 2012, by purchasing the next door commercial property. The extension enabled us to join both buildings into our current layout.
Our Vision and values
At Granny Smith’s we have a clear vision to ensure every child has the best possible opportunity to develop and succeed as well-rounded individuals who are aware of their rights and responsibilities and are fully prepared for the next step in their educational development. Our child-centered approach helps ensure that each individual child at Granny Smith's has their wellbeing, developmental needs, and interests at the centre of our care provision.
We create a home-from-home family feel, in which staff work jointly with parents to ensure we create a feeling of community with a shared vision and goals. We believe in providing a calm, nurturing and caring environment where children can be at one with themselves, enabling them to thrive and grow into unique individuals supporting them to reach their full potential.
